5 December 2014 - GOSPEL MT 9:27-31

Firday of the First Week of Advent

GOSPEL MT 9:27-31

As Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, "Son of David, have pity on us!" When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I can do this?" "Yes, Lord," they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said, "Let it be done for you according to your faith." And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this." But they went out and spread word of him through all that land.

Reflection:

Today's Gospel speaks about d healing of 2 blind men who came to Jesus wt a gr8 faith. It also points to d healing power of Jesus.

When d blind men catch up on Jesus, He asks them "Do u believe that I can do this?" Without their trust in Him, Jesus cannot do anything for them. These men say they do believe. "Your faith deserves it, so let it b done for u." They get their sight back bz of their gr8 faith & perseverance.

Jesus tells them not to say anything about it. Bt still they shared that experience wt every1 else.

As disciples of Christ v need to b able to see & understand d message of Jesus and then v need to proclaim it everywhere.

Today, Jesus invites us to b aware of our own blindness & our own deafness. V often hv difficulty really hearing and accepting the Word of God and how many us can claim that we can see Jesus as he really is?

If v r to celebrate Christmas properly, v must learn how to listen to God's Word, with understanding and acceptance, & learn to proclaim it to others.

Jesus loves u. Enjoy ur day wt Jesus. God bless.
